3 credits Concentration Option In this course, attention will be paid to the reading and discussion of contemporary young adult fiction representing a variety of themes and genres. Other topics include adolescent psychology, the history and development of young adult literature, current trends in young adult literature, and the young adult in film and other mass media. Aimed at preparing prospective and actual teachers, librarians, and parents to understand and to direct the reading of young adults.
