An exploration of some of the important current issues and realities that define Spain today, including some of the historical factors that contributed to those realities. Students will also explore the culture of modern Spain in selected short works of Spanish literature (in English translation) and in modern Spanish film, music, art and architecture. Three hours credit. Prerequisite: Junior standing or permission of the instructor. Taught in English.
