A study of several major Romantic and Victorian poets and non-fiction prose writers of the late 18th and 19th Centuries. Special consideration will be given to the impact of industrialism, the rise of democracy, and the increasing secularization of society on the literature of the period. Three hours credit. Prerequisites: ENG 102, 200 (or applicable substitution), and 206, or permission of the instructor.
