This course is designed to provide detailed instruction in the teaching of reading to students with persistent reading difficulties. Based on the National Reading Panel report of empirical research on best practices in teaching reading, this course will provide candidates with in-depth study of reading using direct instruction with multisensory strategies. Three hours credit. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education Program.
