An examination of the elements of an effective sales force that provides students an opportunity to learn: the relationship between sales and marketing, the sales process, sales force structure, customer relationship management, and the use of technology to improve sales force effectiveness. The course will also cover issues in recruiting, selecting, training, motivating, compensating and retaining salespeople. This course is especially relevant for students interested in careers in sales, product and brand management as well as for entrepreneurs. Three hours credit. Prerequisite: MKT 217.
