A study of research methods in biological sciences. Attention is given to finding and reviewing the literature. Definition of scientific questions, the logical design of appropriate methods for testing hypotheses, statistical treatment of data, the interpretation of data, and preparation of acceptable reports are emphasized. Three hours credit. Three lecture hours. Prerequisites: BIO 130, 211, 212, and 213 (concurrent), or permission of the department chair.
