Covers the diagnosis, causes, and treatment of abnormal behavior. Topics may include defining abnormality, the history of abnormality, and differing theoretical models used to explain the cause of abnormality and the supporting research. Disorders such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, anorexia nervosa, and multiple personality disorder may be reviewed. PREREQUISITE: PSYC& 100 and eligible for ENGL& 101; or instructor's permission. Satisfies a social science requirement for AA degree. Formerly PSYCH 250.
