A primary course in database systems. Students will develop applications using commercial or open source database systems. Presents the fundamentals of database technology through understanding of database concepts, the relational model, Structured Query Language (SQL), Entity Relationship (ER) diagrams, logical and physical database design, and concepts of referential integrity and normalization. PREREQUISITE: IT 190 or CS& 131 or 144.
