Deals with the historical factors that have shaped the domestic and international relations of China, Japan, and Korea. Primary focus is the evolution of political and economic power of those countries from 1850 to the present. Attention is given to the role of religious and philosophical backgrounds and to the changes that have occurred in the economic, social and political structures of these societies. PREREQUISITE: Eligible for ENGL& 101 or instructor's permission. Satisfies a social science requirement for AA degree.
