This is the high beginning level of English for Speakers of Other Languages for students who are permanent Washington state residents. Students will be able to understand simple spoken or written learned phrases and new phrases containing familiar vocabulary. Students will be able to express essential survival needs including asking questions and communicating personal information. Students will be able to write short sentences on familiar subjects and fill out basic personal information on forms. Students will learn organizational skills and learn to function in a classroom setting. PREREQUISITE: ESOL 012, placement test and instructor's permission. This is a pass/no credit course.
