Appropriate for those wishing to gain a better understanding of schools and teaching, especially those planning to enter the teaching profession. Includes a historical perspective of American education, current research on effective teaching strategies, and a discussion of current issues related to schools, teaching and learning. Also includes 33 hours of a required, supervised placement in an elementary, middle or high school or documentation of previous experience totaling 33 hours. Formerly EDU 170.
