Introduction to dimensional analysis and vector algebra and their use in solving engineering problems. Newton's laws are used in problems involving forces, moments, acceleration and velocities. Problem format, significant figures, statistics and error analysis, and their role in the design process are discussed. PREREQUISITE: MATH& 142 or equivalent.
