The student will gain fundamental knowledge of patient and healthcare recordkeeping, different types of data, sources, and use and users of data. Application of general principles of law as related to health information. Emphasis on regulations regarding protected health information, patient privacy, and patient confidentiality. PREREQUISITE: BUS E 142 or instructor's permission.
