3 class hours 3 Credits A survey course which includes modern revolutions; the Industrial Revolution; Imperialism; the Indian, Far Eastern, andAfrican backgrounds and political developments; the rise of Latin America; twoWorldWars and their results; modern nationalism and the decline of colonialism. The political, economic, social, and intellectual views of the world are emphasized. This course is termed a writing intensive course and requires a minimum of 4,000 words of instructorevaluated writing per student, including a minimum of three graded assignments over the duration of the course. If completed with a grade of "C" or better, this course servesto complete part of the writing intensive course requirements. (I)
