The preparation of business documents using Microsoft Word XP word processing software. The course includes study of basic page layout and design structure and computer graphics to produce professional-looking documents, such as letters, resumes, memoranda, and reports, as well as the creative production of flyers, advertisements, and newsletters. Desktop Publishing is the use of a microcomputer-based system to produce publication materials--typeset or neartypeset quality text and graphics integrated on a page. These materials include memos, correspondence, notices, flyers, posters, certificates, agendas, business cards, press releases, office forms, brochures, schedules, catalogs, reports, manuals, newsletters, newspapers, magazines, books -- anything that is made up of words. BUAD 1103 prerequisite preferred.
