Skills will be developed to facilitate taking the next steps in computing including topics such as IM, Talk bots, Messenger systems RSS feeds, blogs, pod casting and social networking systems. Students will learn how to recognize, prevent and remedy problems caused by spyware, adware and other "malware." Students will beintroduced to wireless home networking technologies, open source software and the next level of software applications and operating systems. The course will survey software available for communicating through a broadband Internet connection as well as software products that can be handled by a thumb drive. Lecture: 3 hours
