4 Credits Prerequisite: Sophomore Standing "The Modern World" begins with the French Revolution of 1789. There is intensive analysis of the Industrial Revolution, the rise of secular culture, the changing roles of women, and the catastrophes of World Wars I and II. Against the background of the formation of the European union and the spread of worldwide revolutions, the student will examine the arts, politics, and transformation of attitudes and values of the 20th century.
