Through selected readings and from a number of theoretical perspectives, students explore the ways in which society defines deviance and the deviant, the roles that individuals and groups play in the labeling of deviant behavior, and the means that society uses to control and eliminate such behavior. Prerequisite: Junior/senior standing. 3 credits.
