Prerequisites: COMP 01112 or ENGR 01201 and POSC 07100 or POSC 07110 or POSC 07200 Political Communication investigates the many and varied understandings of how "the political" functions symbolically in contemporary society. Most broadly the course further develops students' appreciation for the inherently political relationship between language and meaning. More specifically, it focuses on the intersections between public, political discourse, representations and manifestations of the tensions between liberalism and democracy, the performance of citizenship, and civic responsibility.
