Prerequisites: THD 07232 In this course, students study the elements that lay the foundation for a successful design career in the theatre. Beginning with an examination of the place of design in the theatre process, students then study the principles of visual composition and elements of design, and study playscripts in order to formulate an appropriate design. Students will also be introduced to the study of historical periods and styles of decor and get exposure to basic sketching and drafting of theatrical designs.
