An introduction to information systems and technology acquisition. A building block approach is used to expose students to methodology used to acquire systems and technology. The process of developing specifications to closing agreements that cover typical acquisitions, including hardware, software and more complex outsourcing and internet services, is explored. The course includes technological, commercial, and preventive law issues, as well as an introduction to the negotiation of contract terms and conditions. Prerequisite: IS 105.
