Prerequisites: PHYS 08400 or CHEM 08400 This course studies concepts and models of inorganic chemistry. It explains molecular geometries and other physical and chemical properties on the basis of the several chemical bonding theories and with reference to the periodic table. Students study both main group and transition element chemistries. The laboratory component emphasizes the synthesis and characterization of inorganic compounds.
