This course presents an overview of the historical and cultural impact of migrations, conquests, encounters, and other forms of cross-cultural fertilization on artistic developments in Asia, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. This course traces the emergence of now-Western artistic traditions in terms of their Pre-Colonial and Post-Colonial world views, examining the cultural issues involved in Colonial and Post-Colonial theory.
