An overview of typical and atypical development with a focus on patterns of speech/language acquisition; the impact of the social-communication process; and developmentally appropriate intervention practices. Exploration of the nature of speech and language disorders of diverse learners; assessment and interaction practices as well as research-based remediation strategies and techniques to include the use of technology to provide a supportive learning environment.
