1 semester, 3 credits This course addresses contemporary international conflicts and cooperation in the Middle East, including inter- Arab relations, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the Persian-Arab conflict, war and diplomacy in the Persian Gulf (especially Iraq and Iran), East-West politics in Turkey, and the role of outside powers such as the United States, Russia, China, and the European Union. Fulfills the International Relations requirement.
