Topics include DNA and chromatin structure and function, regulation of gene expression and related processes, mutation, gene duplication, patterns of generic divergence and genealogical reconstruction. (3 hr. lec.) Prerequisites: BIO 3704 and one semester of Organic Chemistry, or permission of the instructor.
