Basic computer literacy suggested, but not required. Computers and automated processing of health information. Applications include large systems (medical, vital, and billing records), special studies (surveys, questionnaires), health planning and marketing, surveillance and program monitoring, and the evaluation of health programs. Exercises will utilize readily-accessible software (word processing, spreadsheet, database, statistical processing, and geographic information systems) to demonstrate design, development, testing, implementation, and decision-making considerations in practice.
