4 Credits This course is intended to provide a straightforward account of the main historical developments in the evolution of the international system and the principal components of contemporary global politics. International relations will be studied through a focus on the institutions that emerged during 1815 through 1945 so as to explore the continuities and changes evident in the sovereign state and the emerging contemporary global political system.
