Students will study procedures from the arrest and filing of a criminal complaint to sentencing. Preparation of documentation of motions for discovery, motions to suppress evidence, briefs, and preparation of a presentence investigation will be covered, as well as alternate forms of research, such as reviewing existing criminal files. Students will also do legal research of both case law and criminal procedure. Prerequisites: LEI 101 and 121.
