This field course explores New Jersey's 1.5 billion year geologic history through analysis and interpretation of clues left in the rocks. We examine each of the four provinces of the state, from the bedrock to the surface, focusing on the geologic history of the state and its geologic resources; we will also look at environmental geology issues such as water resources, land use, and waste management. This course includes four full-day field trips and seminars before each trip (and a wrap-up session at the end).
