A survey of main, pre-modern culture areas in North, Central, and South America, and the Caribbean: native civilizations and other native cultures; peasant cultures of Europeanized America; African influences in and around the Caribbean. Descriptive overview with emphasis on the diversity of cultural experiences and achievements. May be taken independently from Anthropology 204.
