This is a course for serious art students who have taken at least four or five courses in the visual arts. The course is the precursor to Advanced Visual Arts, the capstone course in the major. The student in this course should be motivated and have an ability to work independently. Students from all disciplines in the visual arts are encouraged to take this class. The course will revolve around a series of problems that will relate to current issues in the field. The problems are set up to help you become more conversant with and attentive to these ideas. Your challenge will be to personalize solutions to these by mining your individual histories. The solutions to these problems will be expected to be able to be solved in a number of different mediums or combinations of mediums.
