Community Journalism is an advanced reporting and writing course. Students will learn how to develop a community beat and cover town hall and school board meetings as well as cover neighborhoods and report in-depth news feature stories for print and the Web. Students will also learn some basics of specialized reporting and writing including business writing and opinion writing. Writing will be done in class and at home. Some assignments will require students to do field reporting.
