A survey of the major phyla of invertebrate animals with special emphasis on those groups that inhabit the marine environment. The morphology, development, and life history will be discussed. The laboratory covers the systematics of the phyla and experiments demonstrating the characteristics of each group. NOTE: Dissection of plant or animal material is carried out in the laboratory portion of this course. Please refer to the Student Handbook for the College's dissection policy.
