Description:

Historically and traditionally, the great martial arts of the world were concerned with the development of the spirit, mind, and body. In the True Spirit Forms style, a student is taught to develop the spirit and encouraged in love, peace, humility, courage, compassion, prudence, and courtesy. The meditative and physical aspects of the style are demanding, and the student is constantly trained to concentrate and focus; as a result, acumen and willpower are improved. The combative aspects of the training will be difficult, but when faced and confronted, bring the student manifold psychological benefits. The student's health and stamina are improved via the yoga-type stretching exercises, stances, proper breathing, and various Karate/Kung Fu techniques and forms which comprise the True Spirit Forms style. Strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, posture, and poise are also improved. Finally, as a result of the training, a student will know how to defend himself/herself if necessary, which will enhance confidence, self-esteem, positive thinking, and courage. 0.000 TO 2.000 Credit Hours 0.000 TO 2.000 Lecture hours Levels: Undergraduate Schedule Types: Lecture Interdisciplinary Studies College Conditioning Department
