A study of the architectural, environmental and engineering design considerations for planning and building energy efficient solar homes. The course will include state-of-the-art analysis of super-insulation, passive solar, air-to-air heat exchangers, and radon-resistant construction, as well as the basics of heat loss and thermal energy flows, energy conservation techniques, landscaping, and site evaluation.
