The lecture portion of this course provides in-depth examination of the structure and function of ecosystems. Topics include: analysis and classification of plant communities; wetland classification and delineation; ecosystemdevelopment and maintenance; evolution of the biosphere; and impacts of human activities on ecosystems. The field laboratory consists of semester-long, independent field research projects.
