The Spanish Language Studies Capstone Seminar is designed for graduating seniors who will be required to write a research project in their discipline in Spanish. This course will be conducted entirely in Spanish. After selecting an area of investigation of interest to them personally and professionally, students will be guided as they perform primary and secondary research. Tasks and discussion will revolve around strategies for effective writing at all stages of the process; planning, writing, organizing, evaluating, revising and editing. We will also discuss the rhetorical situation, critical thinking, argumentation and support of ideas, responsible documentation of sources, and research techniques. Students will have several opportunities to receive feedback from the instructor and peers on their work as it develops.
