Fulfills a course requirement in the Language Core ConcentrationPrerequisite: Successful completion (C- or higher) of Intermediate Latin IIor placement by examinationRoman Literary Tradition II provides a survey of Latin literature fromthe "silver age" to early Christianity. The most significant works of literature, ranging from drama and epic to biography and historywill be introduced and discussed. Emphasis is placed on the toolsof analysis specific to literary studies, translation, and criticism inclassical philology. Reading, discussing, and writing about significanttexts affords understanding of literature and reinforcement ofadvanced language skills.
