Working closely with a faculty mentor, studentsengage in original research on a topic of their choice. The researchmay involve laboratory experiments, field work, or computersimulations. This course provides experience in designing andconducting experiments, critically analyzing data, reviewing publishedscientific literature, and communicating scientific information. Theculmination of the course is a formal written thesis and a public oralpresentation.
