Prerequisite: VARTSThis class serves as a forum to prepare for the challenges of theprofessional art career. Emphasis is on the professional presentationof the work of an artist through the completion of a portfolio, anartist's statement, and a resume. The students will be introducedto the workings of gallery representation; location and applying forgrants, residencies and internships, and applications to professionalgraduate degree programs in the arts. Regular visits with localprofessionals in the arts such as working artists, gallery directors,curators and educators will be an important component of thecourse.
