Prerequisites: POSC 07110 This course describes and analyzes the American judicial process, with particular attention to the role of the judicial branch in developing public policy. Topics to be explored include jurisprudential theories of the law, the organization and staffing of courts, civil and criminal process, judicial selection methods, judicial behavior, the legal profession, law and social change and the political and social impact of court decisions.
