Prerequisite: ITL 216 or ITL 217, or permission of instructor This course offers a thorough study of the history of Italy since its unification in 1861. Historical events, social, economic, political issues, as well as ideas and movements that have characterized the different stages of the development of unified Italy will be approached from many different angles. By considering the different dimensions of historical development, students will gain an understanding of the relationship between history and its impact on the social, economic, and cultural reality of Italy.
