International/multicultural course (I). This course is about the human experience of disease in cross-cultural, historical, and evolutionary perspective. Topics include: the cultural base of medical knowledge, the role of the healer, the impact of political and economic forces on the health of individuals and communities, applying anthropology in health settings. Students will be required to gain first hand experience in a complimentary medical practice or conduct fieldwork in a healthcare setting. Faculty: L.
