Continued development of painting skills, both from observation-still life, city and landscape-and from ideas via poetry, collage, and abstraction. Composition as an intuitive process and the development of a personal painting language will be stressed. Masters of history painting through the avant-garde, modernism and postmodernism explored, involving some reading and discussion. Offered each semester.
