ARTV 2161 or ARTV 2270 and ARTV 2920. Arts course (A). Introduction, study, and application of illustration as a means of effective visual communication. Emphasis is placed on the development of the creative visual concept and its relationship to style, media, technique, and method of reproduction. A variety of traditional and computer-generated illustration techniques are introduced. Specific problems are given in the publishing, promotion, and advertising areas involving books, magazines, newspapers, posters, CD ROMS, Internet, and other printed and electronic media. Faculty: M.
