BIOL 2150 and either BIOL 3150 or BIOL 2180. Open only to juniors and seniors. A detailed examination of organization, function, and interaction of physiological systems with emphasis on unique adaptations in vertebrates. We will study both classic and current approaches to the study of animal physiology. Physiological traits are adaptations to environmental conditions and we focus on how animals deal with fresh and salt water, high altitudes, the deep sea, and the terrestrial environment ranging from deserts to the arctic.
