Arts course (A). Course content includes fundamentals of reading, playing basic brass literature, ensemble playing, harmonization, improvisation and sight-reading. Intended for the student who has little or no previous brass study or music reading. Open to anyone who wishes to learn how to play a brass instrument. Emphasizes development of jazz trumpet technique. Student must provide own instrument.
