CHEM/BIOL 3250 with minimum grade of C. CHEM 2110, 2115, 2120, 2125; BIOL 1200. (Same as BIOL 3550.) This course provides a more in depth examination of the protein, mechanisms of enzymes action, and carbohydrate metabolism themes discussed in the first biochemistry course. It also explores additional topics such as lipid, amino acid and protein metabolism that are relevant to the student going into graduate or professional schools. Metabolism and cell function will be emphasized. Clinical case studies and selected papers from the scientific literature will be discussed. Faculty: K. KEENAN, B.
