This course will introduce the basic theoretical concepts of Neoclassical economics and explain their application to the study of health care in the United States. There are basically two approaches to health care reform ? government regulation and market competition. This course will explore the economic underpinnings of these two approaches. It will also examine specific policy proposals and assess their relative strengths and weaknesses. Faculty: R.
